Am 15.03.2021 gab Prof. Wichtmann auf Einladung von Prof. Sarat K. vom Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) in Dhanbad eine Vorlesung mit dem Titel „Investigations on the seismic slope stability for planned residual lakes in opencast mines“ im Rahmen des dreitägigen „International Virtual Short-Term Course on Futuristic Prospects of Geoenvironmental and Geotechnical Issues of Coal Mine Overburden and Mine Tailings“.
