"Effective stress" Workshop

On the 15/16th September, we held the workshop "Effective stress in Multiphase Porous Media" with international guests.

Invited speakers gave talks and presented current and ongoing research. Theoretical background, experimental data sets and investigations on the level of microstructure were discussed under several individual views according to different research backgrounds. It was evident that there is still a need for discussion how to describe the effect of soil water interaction (in terms of suction) when dealing with the mechanical behavior of partially saturated soils. We appreciate the high input and passionate involvement of all contributors and we like to thank all participants for the fruitful and intensive discussions.
